​                              Complimentary Initial Consultation
We’re only as good as the good we can do for you, so let’s start with an introductory conversation about your current interior design needs.  Please know that Barbara consults on small projects and large projects alike—as small as some privacy shades, and as large as whole room renovations.  So don’t hesitate if your needs are basic (or immediate)—we are here to assist. Clients have often remarked that Barbara is friendly and approachable.   Ready to help, Barbara offers a complimentary initial 1-hour in-home consultation so you can meet her in person and get to know her a bit.  She will ask general questions about your current project and your family’s lifestyle and discuss how she might be able to assist you.  She will likely take a few photographs of your home so that after the meeting, she can follow up via email with a complimentary design rendering of your space to demonstrate her award-winning design rendering service.   With that email, Barbara will also propose a fee structure appropriate for the project—whether fixed flat fee, design deposit (often partially or fully rebated with product purchase), or other arrangement.  

               Exploration Interview and Questionnaire
​When you have decided to engage Center Stage for your project after the initial consultation, Barbara then starts the design process with an in-depth interview in your home to discover your functional needs, style and color preferences, budget goals, and very importantly, your preferred “selection style.”  If you are overwhelmed by too many choices, we need to know that…and similarly, if you are a fabric-lover like Barbara and want to see dozens of books with sumptuous fabrics, we need to know that too.  

                                               Design Process
Thus begins the dialogue and design process where Barbara will order samples and provide additional renderings, samples, and proposals to you.  Perhaps you would enjoy visiting the Boston Design Center together, or a furniture showroom where Barbara has trade accounts.  It all depends on your project. And if you are busy, and prefer to do everything via email, phone calls, and visits from Barbara, we can do that too.  Your client journey should be fun and compatible with your busy lifestyle.  

​                                     Delivery and Installation
Center Stage will arrange for all the components of your project to be set into place.  For window treatment installation, Barbara will see to your project personally and is fully insured for your protection and peace-of-mind.  We work with the finest set of vendors, tradespeople, and service providers.  18 years in business has yielded a substantial network of vetted home professionals in the Boston area.
